Two New Adhesives – One with a 30 Minute MDAT

Sika Corporation introduced two new adhesive systems for vehicle glass replacement applications; SikaTack ELITE and Sikaflex-268 PowerCure. Both products were designed to combine the curing advantages of a two-component system with the ease-of-use of a one-component product, according to the company.

The adhesives were developed for the auto glass replacement industry, SikaTack ELITE cures quickly and achieves a 30 minute Minimum Drive-Away Time (MDAT), which the company says reinforces car bodies to the level of a new vehicle in one hour. The product is packaged in 400 ml unipacks and is applied using the 400 ml Powercure dispenser.

Sikaflex®-268 PowerCure is ideal for large vehicle and equipment glass replacement applications, which includes RVs, heavy trucks, and agricultural or construction equipment. It provides fast adhesion, curing and strength build-up. The product is packaged in 600 ml unipacks and is applied using the 600 mmi PowerCure dispenser.

A New High-Performance Black Anti-Stick Ink Takes a Dip-Tech into the Industry

Dip-Tech released its new Automotive Black Anti-Stick Digital Ink (CASS_0775), a black automotive ink glass enamel with high acid resistance  and excellent anti-stick properties. It’s ideal for a process requiring direct contact of pads to the printed glass such as press bending applications.

The new Ink formulation was developed by Ferro, is REACH-compliant, provides high Green Strength, and has passed the “Toyata” 72 durability test. In addition, the new ink features a wide firing  range and high optical density.

Dip-Tech’s Black Anti-Stick Digital Ink is another product in the company’s automotive solution package which consists of printing machinery, software and a special set of inks. This package was designed to meet the automotive requirements for intensive mass production volumes and high product resiliency, the company says.

Look to the Sky for a New Cloud-Based Glass Claims and Repair Management Solution

Mitchell International announced the availability of its Mitchell® Cloud Glass solution, a glass repair and replacement system that directly links original equipment manufacturer (OEM) repair procedures found in the Mitchell TechAdvisor database to National Auto Glass Specifications (NAGS). According to Mitchell, its new system new system is designed to save technicians time and help ensure proper, safe repair of vehicle windshields, including those with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Repairers can access Mitchell Cloud Glass from any Internet-enabled device and schedule jobs, process work orders, generate invoices, track performance and receive payments from insurance partners and customers. It is available first to U.S. customers, and the cloud-based, point-of-sale solution integrates with Intuit QuickBooks Online.
