Insurance Panel Answers NWRA Conference Attendees’ Burning Questions
Chris Umble, vice president of strategic initiatives for LYNX Services and Tony Douglas, affiliate manager for HSG, answered a number of questions related to glass claims during a panel held as part of the National Windshield Repair Association’s (NWRA) annual conference. Topics included falling deductibles, promoting windshield repair and how glass shops can make the claims process run more smoothly. On the topic of promoting windshield repairs and a growing awareness, Umble said, “Repair is always good. That has been our mantra.” He also pointed out that he sees a growing awareness regarding repair. “I see change and it may be for the better,” he said. “Repairs are no longer the silent side [of the industry].” SuperGlass president David Casey asked the panel what businesses like his (and his franchisees) can do to make an insurance transaction run smoothly. “It’s nice to work with an organization that trains people well,” advised Douglas. Umble concurred, and said businesses should focus on the quality that they’re providing to their mutual customers. “When we offer multiple party names, we want to be darn sure those shops are the best value,” he said. When asked about falling deductibles as related to glass claims, Douglas said HSG is seeing “a lot of deductibles that fall under $250.” |
